Jonathan Breton. Dance Encounters, 2018

During his residency Jonathan Breton has kept workshops for example to the Aesthetic Gymnasts of Rauma and Rauma dance school (Turun Seudun Tanssioppilaitos) as well as choreographed new pieces for the Dance Encounters event. This show will be a wonderful opportunity to see a wide range of dance techniques and dancers. Dance students, folkloric dancers from Fikuleeri association, amateurs and professional dancers from the New York dance company AZOTH Dance Theatre. Jonathan Breton has been working with all the dance groups to put together a unique show. He choreographed a piece bringing Finnish and French culture together, contemporized a Finnish folkloric dance to make it more actual and created several different works especially for this performance, a performance you don't want to miss!

Jonathan Breton graduated from the Superior Institute of Performing Arts of Paris and the Alvin Ailey School of New York. In parallel of a career as a professional dancer in New York, Jonathan have been choreographing for many companies and he is currently working for AZOTH Dance Theatre, which as presented his work worldwide. Jonathan is also an experienced dance and Pilates teacher with over 10 years of experience all over the world.

Alexandre Balmain trained and competed internationally as a ballroom dancer for 14 years. He then graduated from the International Center of Dance Rick Odums in Paris and the Martha Graham School in New York where he was a student under scholarship and full member of the Graham 2 company. Alexandre performed with numerous choreographers and more recently with the renowned Jennifer Muller/the Works in New York. He also appeared in a film along with Pierce Brosnan.
