Hedwig Rogge (DE)

German artist Hedwig Rogge’s interest in so called ”forgotten landscapes” and people’s neglect towards the surrounding nature can be seen in her paintings’ milieus - wastelands intrigue her. Most of the times her paintings are based on places that seem to interest no-one.

First time Rogge visited Finland and Satakunta was in June when she was invited to Rauma by Raumars. In August her exhibition opened in Gallery 3H+K in Pori and consisted of murals and floor-paintings. The exhibition was made together with local organizations, including Viikkari’s kindergarten that’s specialized in arts. Gallery’s second floor was consisted of Rogge’s paintings made with frottage-technique.
